I have killed a lot of weeds in my life,
Pulled them, hoed them, and cut with a knife.
I have shoveled thistles in the meadow,
burned their seeds before they blow.
I have poisoned thistles and dandelions in the lawn,
Dug them up in the evening and at the crack of dawn.
I have pulled bindweed in the heat of the day,
Making piles big enough to put on the dray.
In Heaven will I get the prize for the most?
Or will God say you killed them and you are toast?
Dandelions flower even when you are sick.
Sometime I'll find out what makes God tick.
I'm so sorry to see how the dandelions in the picture have really taken over your front lawn. Also sorry that you have been sick. Hope you are better now!
Oh, that's not my lawn (i would really be sick) . Neither is the one behind it. Thanks for your support.
Seriousy, I have pulled enough bindweed to fill up a trash can in one day. They are worse than dandelions for gardens. They twist around the plants, then if you pull them, it strips all the leaves off your garden plants.
I am just starting to see the dandelions bloom. Actually kind of beautiful in the accompanying photo here, but I religiously hand pull thousands every spring. I am Kelly, destroyer of worlds.: -)
Yes, beautiful when yellow, but wait a couple days. When white, they make you sick(er) .
Thanks for your kind remarks. They are a real challenge this time of year (especially when you are sick like I have been.)
