Winter Linger Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Winter Linger

So many days of, Winter Linger
It may never pass away
Frozen toes and fingers
These cloudy, gloomy days

From within a warmer daydream
Equals a smile to be worn
Longing waves of summer waters
Roaring skies of thunderstorms

Winter chill is never gentle
The land is always frozen pure
Northern cold so ever bitter
Weary minds cannot endure

Approaching warmer weather
Will Ye slay this beast away
Return for love of natures mother
Exchange a frown upon our face

There remains a charming season
A true beauty one adores
However when it comes to every winter
Far be it better home indoors
