Winter Rhapsody Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

Winter Rhapsody

Rating: 5.0

When the tempests of Time
Have shattered one by one
The weary leaves of years,
And the certainty of spring
Has gone away with hope,
The frozen winds of winter,
Only desolation bring:
Black skeletons collapse—
Onto the ground they drop.

And nothing is heard again
Of doves cooing in the air;
The sun upon a sterile whiteness,
With bright light eclipsing love:
No tender feelings anymore,
Such bleak hearts can bear!
Gone is the time...
Gone is the love...
Gone is the dove...

The heartfelt musings of a lovelorn soul! The underlying sense of pain and longing is palpable in every line! The melancholic tone touches at the heart strings!
