With The Stars Poem by Kewayne Wadley

With The Stars

I cannot wait until I go to sleep tonight,
I've made plans to meet you
In a place familiar to us both.
Beneath the stars that first
Introduced us to love.
We watched idly as they became lost
In each other's weight, dancing off
Into the night.
Tonight, don't you dare be late falling asleep.
I want to take their place
& become lost in you as they do the night.
The stars that are fated to dance forever
Lip pressed over lip.
I want to give you the type of love
That isn't afraid to fail,
One that lives without fear.
Tonight when I go to sleep,
Before we leave and go back to our bodies.
If you wake up before I do.
Look up in the sky and tell me
If you remember
The piece of my heart I gave to you
