Wounds - Poem by Anna Dietze

Saying I’m not worth it
Is just salt to the wound
Wounds that run deeper than you know
Scars sliced open
Bleeding and throbbing
I close my eyes and I see your face
Taunting me, laughing
I remember the days fondly
But I don’t want to
I still hate you
You broke my heart
And you laughed in my face
As I broke down
You just stepped over me
And kept walking, never looking back
I want to forget you
So, why do I keep writing poems about you?
