Written On One Starry Night Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

Written On One Starry Night

Rating: 5.0

The night is still
The air is cold
I look unto the heavens above,
And there I see
The stars that shine
And yet can never find me love.

I walk upon
The frosted ground
The moon does light the way before,
And yet so lost
I now appear
As night shall yield its joy no more.

When we first kissed
One starry night
Twas if they all did shine for me,
And yet alas
They shine no more
For love was never meant to be.

Now sadness lies
Within my heart
That through my life shall always stay,
As long as I
Remain alone
Then love will never come my way.

I wish this night
Would quickly end
The memories now too much to bear,
My only dream
To be with you
And yet I only feel despair.
