Yesterday you were here,
Today you were gone.
Yesterday you promised to be near,
But tomorrow waited too long.
Yesterday you were my thoughts,
Today you're on my mind.
Tomorrow will be a fight well fought,
Because of the horrid news my heart will find.
Yesterday you held me close to your chest,
Today that's all in the past.
Tomorrow, my heart won't be at rest,
But we knew Today's Yesterday would never last.
