You. Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

You.

Rating: 5.0

Your love frightens me so much
Although I love you with a fire born
In a dangerous part of my being
To see you this close, see every pore of your face
Makes me squirm and step back a step
For there is no self control this close to you
I hate me like this whenI love you like this
I murmur to myself that it is not possible
Not happening
Not in keeping with the other me
The cold dispassionate me
Well my floor has collapsed
And I am falling into a pit of fire
Named You, smiling with
That saw in your hand
The one that cut the floor.
