You Do Not Come, A Chinese Poem By Fang Gan In English Translation
Your journey is long
from east to west on a far off road
and I have no one to talk to.
Winter has come. I do not know
your address for your clothes to send to.
At your parting we planted
a tree in front of the hall.
It already has a nest
but you have not come home.
