You're Friend Poem by Richard Wlodarski

You're Friend

Rating: 5.0

I'm so screwed
Why can't you
Just leave me
Damn alone?

'cause you're friend
You see light
Within me
Past darkness

Because you're friend
You hear words
Not yet spoken
Perhaps, deadened

Because you're friend
You speak softly
Yet, so profoundly
Emphatically

Because you're friend
You understand
My lasting pain
Life without gain

A friend may be able to show you something in yourself that perhaps you can't see, these type of friends are special indeed. I enjoyed reading the hope in your words even if the person in the poem could not.

As a friend one must understand the pain of his or her friend, He mustn't want gain for his help. A beautiful poem having a lofty theme is nicely executed.10
