Through The Flames
I’ve known the smoke, the fire, the flames ripped through my life before
You think that since it happened once, you’ll face those flames no more
But often life will deal a hand you’re not prepared to play
When fire and smoke and twists of fate take more than things away
You just can’t shake the hurt you feel; it wanes but doesn’t end
It’s hard enough to lose your home but worse to lose your friend
You question why it had to be, the time you might have saved
The words you spoke, the things you saw, the choices that you made
You do your best to live your life ...
