Letting Go

Layers of epidermis fall from their creator
A non-reptilian molting of the sapien kind
Vast root systems revealed
Naked vines with tendrils ends hidden
Beneath still intact human sediment
Pulsing with life
But soon to be hollowed

As larva bursts from sultry wombs proclaiming life
So does this encapsulated system
Yet in utterance of death
Shock enraptures the disciple once bent on sacrifice
Tugging at the skirts of the now shaky firm decision
The body’s last attempt at diversion in the face of betrayal
