My Love's Journey

You're on a journey of long duration
I wait in anticipation
For your return from where you are
Though I know you'll travel far

You started when you were born
A trip that is quite forlorn
A sojourn in life some must make
Though in our bosom fire we rake

The road is rough and winding
Pain to your heart is binding
You push ahead, 'I must not fail! '
But in vanity your arms do flail

I wait for you, I tremble in fear
My sorrow is great, shed many a tear
'Where can she be? ' I wonder
Has your journey pulled you under?

I pray at night ...
