Like a panther, there I sat crouching
The moonlight cast a spotlight like an audience was watching
My hot breath fogged the glass of your bedroom window
Evil thoughts as intoxicating as the venom of the black widow
Beat a tattoo in my mind, the theme of the scene
You looked so beautiful, so innocent, serene
I almost felt sorry for you
But I knew it was something I had to do
If I couldn't have you, no one else could
So to end it, perform this act I should

See my heart is ablaze, it's on fire
No, not the kind that stems from your touch; desire
More of the type found in hell's darkest pits of torment
The pain of missing you has turned my heart into one of those pits of torment
In attempt to ease my heart, I walked down memory lane
Hoping images of you would my heart sustain
Alas, into a pool of misery I plunged
And with every memory, deeper I plunged
The memories only made me miss you more
