I watch as you sip
your drink filled with
pleasure and death, and

“Breathe me into you, ” I whisper
as you sleep, wishing silently
that you would hold me close.
I see you smile as you dream,

Distance surrounds us as you
stand next to me, and
the atmosphere is thick with
silent phrases we both wish to speak,
...

Your fingertips run through
my windswept hair and
your lips linger over mine,
without touching them, just

Your warm body heats mine as
you lay next to me. I watch
you sleeping, dreaming. What is it
that you dream about at night?

Hello old friend, it’s been a while
since I last felt your relieving touch.
They tore us apart, to keep me together,

Susan Vannatta Biography

HI. My name is Susan, I'm 16 and I am an aspiring poet and writer. I've been writing poems since I was about 11, and I've recently taken it down a more serious road. I'm planning on publishing my first poem book soon, just a collection of my most favourites, and I just began writing my first novel. I have high hopes and dreams for my writings, I would love for them to inspire people and relate to them. I plan on being a teacher, hopefully to a high school Creative Writing or English class. If there is anything else you would like to know about me, don't hesitate to message. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and please try to read a couple of my poems and tell me what you think. -Susan)

The Best Poem Of Susan Vannatta

Drink, Inhale, Dream

I watch as you sip
your drink filled with
pleasure and death, and
I wish I could be
your Alcohol. I wish
I could be that poison,
resting on your lips and
washing away your worries.
I want to be your
toxicity, your addiction
and love. I wish I could
be your Alcohol.

I watch as you inhale
your relief and release,
calming your mind.
I wish I could be
your Smoke. I wish I
could twist through
the air you breathe and
fill your lungs with
the cancer you so crave.
I want to be your
peace, your perfection
and love. I wish I could
be your Smoke.

I watch as you dream
of your serenity and
your every need, and
I wish I could be
your Love. I wish
I could be that girl,
haunting your brain and
monopolizing your mind.
I want to be your
other half, your want
and your need. I wish I could
be your Love.
