Barring The Nothing

If I could go back
to revisit one thing
It would be that which
turned out to be nothing
But barring the nothing
It truly was something
That dizzying rush
I didn’t see coming
Mouth on mouth
My will succumbing
My cold-clocked heart
In my ears drumming
The ebb and flow
Of our breaths heaving
Your rapturous sighs
so sweetly deceiving
And like I said
It turned out to be nothing…

But barring the nothing
It truly was Something.
