I believe as Samuel Johnson that to write one book one must read a hundred. Agreat poet must master the language completely. One needs to learn the rules in order to break them. A poet is never a bad speller. What amuses you if not this:
perhaps a monkey on rollerblades,
or, put him on a unicycle bouncing
a red rubberball while keeping
rhythm with a hula hoop;
and, if also then, he lit a cigar
from a shot glass afire full of grain
then blew smoke rings that wafted
hazily only to spell your name in cursive.
Would you be impressed? Would you smile?
Would the laughter of a sinless child
bring you any hope?
or, the snuggle of your true love
