Original name: Dr.CELESTINE A.RAJ MANOHAR M.D., eighth child and second son of father (late) Shri.A.T.Antoniswami M.A., L.T., of Trichy(retd Teacher and Naval officer) and mother Mrs.Stella Thangamarie of Trichy(house-wife) was born on Valentine's day of 1957 at Coimbatore of devout Roman Catholic Tamilian parents with well-educated siblings; He received excellent english -medium education at Carmel Garden Matriculation School, Coimbatore; completed his M.B.B.S., at Coimbatore Medical College, Coimbatore in Dec 1979; M.D.(General Medicine) in March 1989 at Coimbatore Medical College, Coimbatore; The poet started writing English poetry serendipitous and voluminously since May,1998, synchronous with India's Pokhran II Blasts as an avocation and quickly went on to publish his two early booklets of poems entitled ' The English Poetry of a new Indian Doctor-Poet' volumes I&II under the pen-name of DR JOHN CELES. The poet has been working as a physician and is presently the HOD and Chief MI UNIT at IRT Perundurai Medical College, Perundurai, Erode, Tamilnadu, India since August 1995 till date, after working earlier as a Medical teacher at PSGIMS&R, Coimbatore since Jan 1989.He has written a number of genres and styles but specialises in Sonnet-writing especially of the Shakespearean style.
