Mateship In A Drought

As I sat in my old tin shack
I listened to the thunder roar
The dark clouds covered the sun,
And the rain began to pour.

That was many years ago,
When the land was lush and green,
Now the animals are barely there,
And the grass is rarely seen.

The hot sun belts down on me,
Every bloody day,
And the dusty plains sweeping by,
Well, what more can I say?

This drought is wearing me down,
And all the others too,
Without each other there to help,
I don’t know what I’d do.

When I need it most they will be there,
To walk me ...
