The Muffin (The Raven Parody)
Once upon a morning golden, when my food have I all solden,
And nothing left for me, to take, and fill my stomach with galore,
Had one box of muffins baking, and in the oven, heard them making,
Sounds that one should never hear coming from that oven I adore,
Nothing there, but oven door.
I recall that noise with dread, knowing that muffins are meant to be dead,
But ghastly wanting to be fed or I will fall upon the floor,
And the fear around me haunts me, but the chow inside still taunts me,
But, with one last glance, I stay away from the oven by the door, ...
