So you can't find grace
You diminish yourself
and the whole human race

as she said
'I don't Love you'
because she didn't get her way

When the clock strikes midnight tonight
or shortly thereafter
a little after, any tears or laughter
put on your coat and step outside

I rustle among your poems
and breathe against you just to breathe you in
I feel your heartbeat within
touched by your confessions and your sin
...

Why is love almost always shadowed by pain?
Maybe it's because you have much to lose and so much to gain
Maybe because without anyone you'll feel incomplete, lonely or insane
Maybe its because love can unexpectedly hit you like a freight train
...

What did they do to you
the little girl who had such a heart
The little girl who was her father's shadow
what did they do to you
...

When I feel someone crying
I cry inside too
When I feel someone's sadness
I always feel blue
...

There is a love
if I might say
that can be found
though once or more discarded
...

I'm sad inside as thought comes to mind
my tongue tastes like salt
my eyes get moist as I think
