When the rain hits on the hills,
down it comes and the lowland fills.
If continual, and on it goes,
we see the power when water flows.
That quiet creek or gentle stream,
now a torrent like you'd never dream.
The water rises like never before,
in no time at all it's awash at your door.
Switch into auto, put everything high,
but inside your head you can only ask why.
Evacuation time has come,
you leave your home feeling somewhat numb.
After the rain when home you go,
just like the water, emotions flow.
