Migraine

The colours and the shapes I see at any other time
Would be beautiful to me
Darting shades of green and blue, imagine any shape or hue
A kaleidescope of complex forms
Which hail the impending pain
That beckons darkened rooms again
Where neck joins head at base of spine
Shoulders crushed like grape from vine
Eyes protrude and temples pound
And resonate and pull me down
To the middle of the storm
That vile tempest that adorns
My waking hours wrapped in thorns
That I might see the world again
Without the hell that is migraine
