I Wish I Could
I’m standing in my tall, black heals
Where I’m at there’s no appeal
My heal sinks deeper in the mud
And my heart stops at that crashing thud.
The casket’s lowered into the ground
It sure will be lonely without him around.
My friend, his son, sure is strong
He weeps to move his grief along.
His wife does not want to get him go
She even knows her sadness shows
Without her man, her life is lost
For this sweet man, there is no cost
His loving friends, they all miss their good man
Their memories no one else understands.
