Poem by Mohammed Asim Nehal

Original Poem by Gabriela Mistral
Translation by Mohammed Asim Nehal

This is a translation of the poem Creed by Gabriela Mistral

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I believe in my heart that when
The wounded heart sunk within the depth of God sings
It rises from the pond alive
As if new-born.

I believe in my heart that what I wring from myself
To tinge life's canvas
With red of pallid hue, thus cloaking it
In luminous garb.

Lovely translation does a wonderful job here. You have perfectly transported the spirit of the English poem into this Hindi version. A broken heart can also have resilience and promise. Thanks a lot, Mohd. Asim ji. (Report)Reply
