097. To My Ex S Poem by Jaden Knight

To my ex S
if you are reading this
it means that I have gone away
you will not see me
nor hear my voice again

Before you start jumping
to your usual conclusions
it is not what it all seems
this is not a suicide note at all
I didn’t say I was going to do it
just that I needed to go away

I just want you to know
that I have not run away
like a frightened rabbit
nor gone into hiding
like an infamous fugitive on the run
I just need my space away from you
and everything else that has been happening

I guess I must apologise
that I will not help you any more
but I really got annoyed
when you started depending on me
to solve your every worry

I refuse to be your hero
or to protect you from your fears
I won’t take away your pain
that your ‘friend’ caused you some time ago
I’m not a trained healer or the like anyway

Now I leave your to your problems
and let you sort out your world
just forget me if you can
while I go on without you
