1 Million Dollars On A String Poem by Kewayne Wadley

1 Million Dollars On A String

At times
It feels like God tied you
To the end of a string
& like a big kid
Pulls you away anytime
Someone gets close.
He sits behind the clouds
Devilish grin on his face
Waiting to tug the string.
Like seriously, when does
This guy go to sleep?
Why is he like this?
Spotting the string coming
From your nose ring.
One day I'll be able to catch you
& run before he has a chance
To notice.
One day I'll cut the string
& raise you up in the sky
And say
Na nana na nana
