2,000 Miles Poem by Kewayne Wadley

2,000 Miles

I walked for miles,
I've walked for miles.
2,000 miles in thought.
Nowhere to go just a walking.
I walked for hours.
Turning to scripture,
Realizing how lost I was.
The things not mentioned.
Lips that remained sealed.
Constant cries to open ears
I walked 2,000 miles in thought.
Seeking rest for weary knees
Searching for the sun at midnight.
Only to find more darkness.
I've walked for miles,
Now my feet don't work no more.
Tired weary. I walked.
Searching for the sun only to realize
it was too dark
