(1) Stray And Hungry Poem by Uriah Hamilton

(1) Stray And Hungry

Rating: 5.0

I know I haven't earned the privilege
of sauntering these rain-swept streets
of this disheartening city in the company
of your soft and tender presence.

But I have such a delicate desire
to push a wet strand of your hair
out of your face to contemplate
the dignified beauty
in the weariness of your eyes.

We both have spent lost years
swimming torrents of suicidal tears.
In this aftermath, real connections
are impossible but even stray and hungry dogs
can find a home for a night.

Some very powerful and excellent images in this poem. Highly poetic, emotionally descriptive: 'We both have spent long years Swimming torrents of suicidal tears, And the whole poem vibrates with the full music of feeling using poetry as medium of expression. Excellently, Beautiful and very touching
