A Baby Cry - Poem by Maha Moustafa

I feel lost, desperate
I have the feeling of a baby cry
A baby that could do nothing but cry
I can do nothing but think, hide my tears and stay alone
Every while my mind becomes out of control
Till I throw myself on bed falling asleep
Sedating myself from thought
Tranquillized by your words
It’s not a waste of time
Any way, I was going to stay free
Rejoining memories together
I tend to be funny, I’m trying to be a nerd
Just to reason being unnatural
But neither would work
My laughter just hides my sorrow
My room, desk and pencil, all need focus I lack
I’m doing everything to hurt myself
Yet being interally hurt couldn’t be hidden
I wake up at night missing you
I walk around searching
I find nothing but your shadow
I can hear nothing but your echo
Till this moment, I’m still living upon your words

There’s a baby looking for a mother
That’s a bird searching for a shelter
Here’s me missing you
The three of us could do nothing
But cry, hope and search
