A beggar on the corner of the street;
I turn away from him; I don't look.
Is he really a poor one in need?
I'm afraid that he may be a crook.
But perhaps only half of the beggars
are really crooked and often cheat.
How about the other half of them,
who are truly in trouble and big need?
Now what would disturb more my peace of mind?
To have given money to beggars who cheat?
Or to have been too afraid and worried and
not have given anything to one in true need?
a great problem, beggers who cheat, they are very professional, punctual and hard worker as a businessman. nice poem friend
Unfortunately it is difficult to distinguish between the genuine and the fake! But it is unfortunate if a truly deserving person is denied our compassion and generosity! A very thoughtful write!
The beauty of this great poem completely enchanted me, It's thoughtful and it's touching.
If I see a begger in the street instead of giving them money, I buy food for them instead. ;) Annette

I like the storyline, but too many typo's and grammatical faux-pas...Slow down, and always proof read before you post out. Your reputation as a writer is measured by grammatical command as much as it is creativity and theme. Good Luck- ~FjR~
