A Contented Love. Poem by Fay Slimm

A Contented Love.

Rating: 5.0

A gentle contentment invades my heart,
And begins a start toward peace.
Changes dull mood, lightens my mind, reaches
Down into my soul, parting
Me from previous darkness, and it spreads
Deep happiness, wraps smiles of bright
Colour around my day, holds me tightly
In it's spell as it readys me
For love, which I know will increase and flood
My cold blood, giving me ardour
From which until now I've been locked and barred.
Gentle contentment feels lovely.

Ah, there is nothing like being in love with someone, Fay, and allowing that wondrous warm flood of emotion and passion to wash over you, bringing you that so desirable inner contentment of love. There isn't quite another feeling like it in the whole world. Your beautiful poem points this out very well! Carl.
