A Deep Inner Calling Poem by Sandra Feldman

A Deep Inner Calling

Rating: 3.5

Yes,
Poets are melancholic notes,
Played on a piano of metaphors,
Each one having his unique image
His way of saying, poetically,
The original sentiments that make poets free,
All of this owned, very personally.

The rest is heart,
Resoundingly blown,
By a wind of words,
For each his own,
Their very soul.

I love the phrase, playing on a piano of metaphors. There are so many connections between poetry and music and I think this is a pitch perfect choice of metaphor and image. Not only visual, but also auditory. And the ending with soul...yes. Thanks for sharing Sandra.

Thank you for describing a poet's calling so wonderfully! 'Poets are melancholic notes, Played on a piano of metaphors, Each one having his unique image' - couldn't be better described. These words stroke a cord in me. You deserve 10/10 for this.
