A Good Night Poem by Kewayne Wadley

A Good Night

I found a good night the moment
I heard your voice.
There's something freeing
Dialing your face on a screen.
The last thing I'd want to do
Is make you run & chance ruining
An otherwise perfect moment.
Nobody listens closer
Than a heart in need.
Fear of being disconnected,
Buffering a sense of belonging
Gone in a instant.
The sound of your voice
A magnet to my ear,
Watching your face
On a screen.
The worse thing you can do
Is not answer good night,
The worse thing I can do
Chance missing a shooting star
across the screen of my phone
Looks like another starless night.
Here's hoping I bump into you
While I sleep.
Nose pressed against the same
Screen
Soaring past comets in orbits
Filled with your face.
Here's hoping I bump into you
While I sleep.
Forgetting to plug the charger
To the phone
