A Little Is Better Than Nothing Poem by Terence George Craddock

A Little Is Better Than Nothing

Rating: 5.0

none in New Zealand
are or have ever been
among those who like
my poetry consistently
for more than a week
an odd week or two
none follow me here
not a single friend

but I write because
I have no choice
because of circumstances
time financial constraints
I actually write very little
very few of my poems out
but a little is better than nothing
a few might be significant

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Although you have written more than 3000 poems, far more than I will ever reach. I think that you do have followers, from the comments on your poems that I have read. I suffer from discouragement also, but somehow keep going.

You do have friends now, who appreciate what you write. I wouldn't worry about the poetry critics in New Zealand- ignore them.

Ahhhhh, Its better to write for ourselves...if someone does like your work that's just a bonus... I started writing to please my readers once and I picked up a couple of stalkers.... a little creepy I wrote Poem Whores poking a little fun abut it. Blessings, Friend
