Glint of sunlight
on its surface.
Dark brown earth
seen clearly at its bottom.
Grass and clover
grow right up to it.
To it the bees have come
and hover just above
then carefully so carefully
sip its shallow edges—
most of them.
But there is one—
more thirsty? brave?
who paddles at its center—
round and round it goes
and seems in no distress.
Big—small—
the things so common to us all.
Glen, I second the comments of the other two. Beautiful images, so easy to imagine, and your thoughts along with them - always so deep. The one in the water reminds me of Peter...
thanks, laurie. the apostle peter wasn't on my mind when i wrote this, but i can definitely see why you'd think of him. he is, after all, the only one to get out of the boat and try walking on water. -glen
Wonderful imagery is drawn here properly. Grass and lover grow up rightly. Braveness is more thirsty here. Round and round this is perceived very well. An amazing poem is very brilliantly penned...10
thank you, kumarmani. once again i marvel how the same walk can keep on providing new sights and insights. -glen
A common scene so beautifully painted in such a way that I can visualize the puddle with clear waters, reflecting the black soil at the bottom, the sunlight falling in it, the grass and clover growing tall and the bees hovering over!
Hi, Valsa! So good to see your comment—thank you! I caught sight of this my first time round the park and had two other times to observe. Though this is my most common walking route, I continue to find things that interest and delight. Hoping you’re well and thriving, Glen
more thirsty? brave? who paddles at its center— round and round it goes and seems in no distress. your great art of perception is marvelous dear Glen. thank u. tony
thank you, tony. saw this this morning during my walk around a nearby park. on the third lap i watched the little fellow in the middle. hoping this finds you healthy and blessed, glen
