A Lone Bird Poem by David Harris

A Lone Bird

Rating: 5.0

The sky is a sombre grey,
no sunlight to shine through,
but across this background,
a lone bird flew.
He was looking for scraps
someone may have discarded carelessly
to feed the hunger
that was consuming him.
Whether he found the meal
he was looking for I cannot tell.
He few over the rooftops
out of my line of vision
and way out of my view.
