A Mini Skirt Poem by Akhtar Jawad

A Mini Skirt

Rating: 4.3

All around me see sweet fairies,
colorful butterflies,
and a few lusty insects.
I am a flower,
Sometimes I am bisexual,
I have both stigma and style,
But a force of evolution,
you call it love,
broken me in two pieces.
I am a male flower,
I have a stigma.
But the real beauty,
is hidden in style,
as it leads to the ovary,
for the output of love,
The naughty pollen grain,
And the charming ovule,
met once again,
and fertilized in active embryo.
The earth provided water and minerals,
The air provided carbon that I need.
The sun, a catalytic agent,
had initiated the photo synthesis,
Lo! The leaves,
the wonderful workshops,
are engaged in making food,
for the tiny embryo.
Time watches smiling,
and now! The ovary is a fruit,
with a number of many sleeping embryo.
Oh Love! It’s all due to you!
But the flower had to pay a libel of service,
Her nectar was it,
The thirsty wind too,
carried pollen grains,
to the ovule,
but for the old shaking wind,
who served twice,
Nothing was left,
just the aroma!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A lovely friend is unhappy with this poem. I can't afford to lose her. So I am raising the mini skirt. The under garments are my carefulness to hide something while mini skirt is a symbolic message to one who likes to share nudes on a website of social contacts. Anyone who has read Botany needs no clarifications. I am confident he understands this poem very well. This clarification is for those who have not read Botany.
Flowers are reproductive organs of a plant. Stigma is the male reproductive organ and style is the female reproductive organ. In some plants flowers are bisexual, having both in a single flower. In many other plants there are male and female flowers. Style has an ovule. Style leads to ovary. stigma has pollen grains that reach the ovule by different agents. It's air sometimes and mostly these are insects who come for the nectar of the flower. They sit on stigma and pollen grain being sticky is carried to style with them.
Fusion of pollen grain and ovule is called fertilization. It makes an active embryo that travels to ovary. Nature plays it's role and ovary is turned in a fruit having so many seeds in which a dormant embryo is sleeping.
Leaves of a plant are the wonderful factories. Roots suck water and minerals from the earth. Air provides carbon dioxide. Carbon is taken and oxygen is breathed out. Sun light though not a part of reaction works as a catalytic agent that initiates this reaction called photosynthesis or carbon assimilation.
Unlike humans plants produce their food within themselves. But they are just like us as far as sex is concerned. Who is the old wind? It's your poor poet Akhtar Jawad. The poor old wind who served the plants twice. First by providing carbon dioxide to them and then by carrying pollen grains to ovule. The insects enjoyed the nectar of flower but old unseen wind had to remain satisfied and content on the sweet fragrance of the flower. and the poor poet who wrote many love poems for the lovers and the beloveds remained content by watching the love of a couple.
Now come to the message. The poet thinks a total exposure of human body is not in the interests of humans. When we become used to a naked body of a woman it no more remains attractive. so it's better to exploit sex in a symbolic manner. I did nothing, I just tried to describe the beauty of sex in a symbolic way.
She is too unhappy with the title. She says why a mini skirt, its too is at all not needed. The skirt is mini because poet wants we should expose something and we should hide something. As already explained under garments are carefulness of poet. So that the naughty old wind if lifts the skirt they may hide that which should remain hidden. It's a poet's check on himself.
One more word you all know the significance of spring season and the flowers in our lives. Why, just because flowers spring that have color and aroma. No my friends it's sex of plants as well!
I think this poem is now fully explained, though I don't like it, as my readers are intelligent enough to understand very difficult poems, where as the poor poet never wrote an enigma. This poem is also a simple poem, even a school student who reads Botany can easily understand it.
Thanks for your giving so much time to read this poet's note about my poem A MINI SKIRT

Your notes were poetry in themselves, my friend. As a student of anatomy and a lover of botany, I appreciated the aspects of this poem beyond the beauty of the poem itself. The human body is a beautiful, intricate, wondrous mechanism, but should not be used for the sole purpose of exploitation of sexual desires. Modesty is a virtue and will always be. Peace
