A Moment Of Rapture Poem by Bhaswat Chakraborty

A Moment Of Rapture

Rating: 4.8

They cleaned up the dandelions
From their beautiful lawn
It is all green and pest-free
O, what a relief!
Now we can all sit and walk
Home free on this backyard
They also cleaned up their previous neighbor
who had clamorous children
By moving here

From the authority of civilization
Many justifications arise
They are just as you own
They are just as you want
They are not just because
They are as they are

Where did we miss the boat
of being natural as well?
That is with fun of course
Fun along with run
With the noodles of challenges
A crystal glass of water
Didn’t we miss that boat?

If you allow a moment of rapture
Silence is the loudest statement
of serenity and non-violence
only if you allow a moment of rapture!

Its very true, civilization dictates its own terms How much to talk, eat, walk and play. Never know, the loss of laughter Behind the curtain of new empire. Rapture, only those know Who can have a hearty laugh Without bothering anout the Tooth of the lion. Wonderful. Enjoyed to the brim.

...my moment of rapture was after the serenity broken as a crystal glass, due to violence.

Hello sir.. First I gotta tell you The title make me feel.. ohh gosh this must be just another love poem I like the way you start the poem In most ways these lines are arresting indeed 'They cleaned up the dandelions From their beautiful lawn' in a way you start the poem with a very mild tone... Then you changed the tone of the poem I should say that is Very skillfully done sir.. 'From the authority of civilization Many justifications arise They are just as you own They are just as you want They are not just because They are as they are' I like these powerful verse.. I feel you v written them with lots of emotion... The repetition is skillfully used to convey a very powerful message.. Last stanza is very well composed too.. I d say this is a very good poem by a poet with lots of skill.. with love shan

I support your moment of rapture. We need it. Your poem is especially meaningful to me because we have so many neighbors moving in and out. Each comes changing the scenery.
