A Mouse In The House - Poem by GAYLE ANNE GOFF

My family was moving into our new house.
Not knowing the old tenants, had not
moved out as yet.

The tenants were a baby mouse
and his family.
He had an older brother named
Mark.
Who was scared to go out after dark.

He had a dog named Art, and for some reason
he could not bark.
He'd run around the back yard after dark
instead of barking he'd fart.

Thar little mouse had a tiny baby sister
named Fay, who's birthday was
in the month of may.

As time went on we learned to get along.
We learned to live together.
And it soon felt like a home.
