Without a purpose, our lives have no soul. The repetition of the opening line so brilliantly emphasizes that it's not enough to just live...live with a purposeful passion!

Such excellent lines, with such powerful implications! Indeed, you make your point well, although I would extend it to say that the will to live can only come from love--either love for oneself, or love for God and people--and what defines our purpose is which love we chose to rule us!
