A New Year Wish Poem by Mihaela Pirjol

It's time for this year to fall away like another leaf on the tree. I saw this title and given the season was drawn to it. A very personal piece, replete with poignancy, and yet reflecting a maturity of love that transcends the bonds of selfish desire to which we so often ascribe the label love. A lovely piece to reflect on at the end of this year. Timeless, my good poet.

'Even if your dreams I no longer occupy, And your mind concentres towards other goals, My heart with yours, soars in a prayer high: ' These sentiments aspire among the highest ideals humanity is capable of yet few individuals achieve, I have long loved these ideals such long before I read the context and words of “It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.” Charles Dickens at the end of his novel A Tale of Two Cities. Great love even though in pain, gives all even life itself in blessing the beloved. May you gently glide through 2017 Mihaela, with true friends family and friends unmet ever at your side.
