A Poem For My Father Poem by Richard Wlodarski

A Poem For My Father

Rating: 5.0

Father dying so I could be free
Pain endured through war and misery
Tears overflowing we embrace in the dance of life
Contemplating the inequity of his life of strife
His memories forever etched in my mind
God whispering to him in his time of grind
Living in the desperation of time and space
Forever searching for freedom...without a trace

Father, sorrow swelling for not living up to your expectation
Could I live my life over again with renewed contemplation
I would resurrect the God-awful mistakes
After all you taught me to master these intakes
Father I have perceived and I'm still discerning
Full of hope that I'm learning from this suffering
Allowing me to keep understanding from our tormenting
So that we may both assimilate the wisdom from life's weathering

The concluding two lines of the poem say it all about your father and about you battling adversities in life. This is indeed a masterpiece and very emotional at that. Thank you very much. Contemplating the inequity of his life of strife Living in the desperation of time and space Forever searching for freedom...without a trace
