A Poem From The Dream Poem by Daniel Brick

A Poem From The Dream

Rating: 5.0

Last night I dreamed
that you dreamed
that you wrote a poem about me.
In the dream your dreaming self
watched that other you compose
the poem with grace and certainty.
Then it seemed the two of you became
one and your joys increased. I was
buoyed above the waters of the Night
and felt waves of delight vibrate
across the space of sleep. You finished
another stanza, for a moment you looked
pleased, then frowned. I knew my summons.
I gathered a dozen images of kind smiles,
flashes of surprise, a mouth saying 'yes'
over and over, and one lazy look of content.
All these images tumbled into your poem,
and you placed each one where it belonged.
A double portrait was emerging in the poem,
as you placed yourself next to mine. Memories
returned from exile, and deferred wishes
came alive. You wrote the last line. A smile
lingered on your lips as you read
the Poem from the Dream.

Same dream is seen in mutual telepathy to write a poem. This mesmerizes mind. With certainty and grace we write poems. A smile lingers due to presence of beauty. The dream of last night remains in memory. Beautiful drafting is shared here is interesting.10

People can make a perfect world with their imaginations Wishes come true in dreams When the doors of hope are locked never mind, the moral issue is still the same over the decades Previous Generations / Soran

Part 1 /as you placed yourself next to mine. Memories returned from exile, and deferred wishes came alive. You wrote the last line. A smile The surrealists consider the dream world as part of the literary creativity and part of the psychological component of the human being, where we see in this poem multiple indications of meaning and creative attempt that need a good read and think

Hey, Daniel! First, I think I just accidentally sent a very unfinished message. Feel free to ignore it. Anyway, I was drawn to this new poem because it had dream in the title, and I'm interested for a few reasons in dreams. Funny how we can dream that we're dreaming or, in this case, dream that others are dreaming about us. For excursions into my unconscious if you haven't read them already, see Dolphin Dream, To Fly, and I Was Visited. Oh, and my poem Bridge starts with a dream, but I think you read that one already. And there's my most recent one, but I can't remember the title and don't want to start this reply all over. It just occurs to me that dreams have a definite place in the corpus of poems written in English. Be well! Glen

Hey, Daniel! With dream in the title, you had my attention. With my interest in Jung and archetypes and my personal experience with dreams, I had to look.
