A Stab At My Heart Poem by Laquory Jones

It's like a stab at my heart it's as if the very
Fabric of Life has been ripped straight out of me
It isn't even funny when it comes to shattered glasses
And the sharpest of Shards and the ink of the blood
When it splatters its matter all over the heart perhaps
That's why I didn't see it when it all first started
How Could I not see that I could be so easily discarded
Emotions asking me "Richie are you really retarded? "
But When no defenses are up and my feelings are
No longer heavily guarded just being ripped up until
I'm mentally exhausted now I'm lasping into a deep fustration
With these mental persistant thoughts in heavy
Rotation knowing the pain is only the wake of my
Devastation so by now I'm sitting and pacing
As the clock ticks wondering How much of the time
Have I gone wasting? Now tell me have you been there?

It becomes pure lust when feelings mush It's just a touch
Of two souls connecting and it never takes much when the
Souls begins to dis-connect mixed in pure regret the look
Of these eyes always comes next because when we get to
The point that we don't even respect each other fingers
Crossed and no longer intercepts and then what happens
Next we become emotionally distressed caused by
Emotional neglect two sides of the coins begins to reflect
That's why love and hearts shall never be tempered-with
No worries I'm watching my dialect is it me or have I just
Reached a fever pitch I must admit that I've fell in love
But something had hit that heater's switch
But now its all crashing down to bits
Now my heart's in slits as I try to patch myself up
Using oven mitts and the heartache only persist
When it comes to love there's no simple fix
We just have to prepare for the pain and anger that
Comes with it I know it's an volatile mix
