We are not like
The Sun, the Moon,
Or the distant Stars--
Stellar bodies that remain
To share their
Legendary light.
Yet, we are graced by God
With a different, unique power:
The ability to generate
That which endures forever--
To inspire, to enlighten,
And to leave a legacy of light
For all humanity.

A wonderful poem that compares and contrasts the lights of God's creation!
This poem says that humans may not shine forever like the sun, moon, or stars, but they possess a special gift: the power to inspire others and create a lasting legacy through their actions, wisdom, and kindness. It emphasizes human potential, purpose, and the enduring impact of humanity.
What a perfect poem about letting our light shine for Christ! We are the light of the world as God gives us grace! May it be evident in our lives and after our lives have ended as well. I loved this poem--thanks for sharing!
There is so much beauty in this piece! Thank you for sharing it with us all!
I absolutely loved the point that you made with this poem! Indeed, may God grace all who belong to him with that light! May we leave a legacy of faith and righteousness in which God might be glorified for eternity!
I am so sorry that I didn't comment on this sooner! This is such a masterpiece, Marie! Stars, galaxies, planets are among my favorite imagery of all!
By the grace of God, you have been endowed with the very special gift of writing such beautiful and wise poetry!
