Aaa) The Origins, Crusades. Poem by Paolo Giuseppe Mazzarello

Aaa) The Origins, Crusades.

Rating: 3.0

In the medieval towns there was an increase in people
But if one was in search of a doctor
One had to go to the ghetto and Europe envied Juda.
Dark roads of the ghetto, but bright ways of work!
Then sometimes Israel pushes a villain out of the way and elects a Queen as nice as Esther.
The Pope was in the troubles with the kings
So he sent some of them to the Crusades.
The knives made love with the Berber Princesses on the way to Aleppo,
They ate hot azime bread and drank mint tea under the palms,
They came from the fogs of Normandie and envied the sun of Acre.
The Crusaders wanted to become the favourite sons of God
The Eternal Father did not make differences.

I wonder, if one was in a search of a poet :) in the medieval towns with an increase in people, where could one find a poet? I do not know, it just came to my mind... I wonder, do the people look for poets at all, like they look for doctors...in the Middle Ages and nowadays. Interesting, absorbing piece. Looking forward to the next :) Best regards, one

Very nice...i love your writing because it is often based in historical fact..one was to be a student of history to get all the references, and im not the best student, but i do understand some of it.

The perception of history in a poet's mind is always much better than the historians. I think the traces of history in poetry have greater value than the actual history.

A perception of a poet. Global history is not same everywhere. It differs from place to place.Writing poem on history or civilisation is very difficult. Thanks a lot.

Ah, interesting doubt, this about the research for a poet.. it could be a suggestion! Imagine if looking for a doctor you meet a poet. After an hour of visit and questions he can say a therapeutic poetry and suggests to you to go at home, memorize and repeat it once a day for a month as a mantra so words change you inside and cure you better then medicine!
