Absence Poem by David Harris

Absence

Rating: 5.0

Absence makes the heart grow fonder
is how the old saying goes.
For those who are truly in love
that saying is oh so true.

When hearts in love are apart,
the anguish is almost unbearable.
Each heart pining
for the other to be near.

If we should stumble, losing our way,
the love those two hearts have
will find one another again
to love another day.

Oh yes David, I agree wholehearteded with your most profound statement, a saying we've all heard at some point or other. Absence does make the heart grow fonder because we miss that love and companionship, we miss the encouragement of each other, we miss just sharing a quiet cup of tea in the morning or that special glass of wine at night. If we stumble at some point, that precious love prevails and finds it in the heart to forgive, that's what true love is all about 'forgiveness'. This is a wonderful poem David, I hope many find this one. Melvina
