Ae01 Spillway Open - Poem by Manonton Dalan

sitting on sandbags
sun piercing her hair
playing blade grass
water soaking her feet
so as millions of acres
behind her in morganza

trucks passing with trailer
belongings pack in hurry
leaving with broken heart
water is coming in force
through levees, farms
maybe no harvest this year
