Dad, like what you said
I tried to grow with perfection
Like a tree grows to bear a ripe fruit
Like a yogi's contemplation
With a goal to reach Him, a fruition
But lo, age wouldn't wait till I win
But failed like a felled tree to a conclusion
Like a rich man's downfall to destitution
Like what you cautioned
A magic of luck, had there been with ageing
Like an oasis against the lengthy mirage
Oh, like the fifteenth full moon
Life would have felt complete
Like the satiated heart of that oasis-rest
Good or bad and short or long
Luck and age are like strangers
Unknown to each other like
Day and night juxtaposed yet unmet
Good luck is always like a glance of God
Flashing like the above lightning
Dad, like what you used to say always
I too say'better luck in next birth at least'
'Like dad like son' is what my life is dad'
Dear Indira Madam, First of all, wishing you a great year ahead, full of God's grace. A fine poem. Like you, i too remember the wise words of my Dad. So does Aniruddha ji. Remain blessed always........10
Parents' words keep echoing in our mind especially as we grow old. We all wish to attain perfection, but it is a an unattainable goal. However the very effort is rewarding and highly commendable. A beautiful poem, Indira madam!
I especially liked the last stanza. Luck smiles only rare, and many desires remain unachieved. If not how will life carry on? A desireless man gets nirvana. Fabulous, as I said before.
God's grace fives us grace and life becomes and good fruit. Life becomes fruit like feature of righteousness by his grace like and aging is also bless. Growing with perfection is very nice. Dad has definitely said the right thing. An excellent poem is very well penned.10

What a fabulous piece of poem! You are almost my age if slightly younger, but like me you still remember dear father, and what he said.
